Hello, everyone! I'm Gao Xin. My net name is “Human Eater", which means a human who likes to eat.

I got to know Free Lunch when it opened its first school in 2011, but it was in March, 2012 that I formally became a member of Free Lunch.

I made my first donation here, became a leading volunteer for the first small-amount regular donation school here, managed to do docking working between schools and finally became the director of Free Lunch Guizhou. Gradually, I got lots of moving stories as well as valuable friends. I am expecting my love story here.

My first visiting of a school was on Nov. 11th, 2012, which was also a large net-friends meeting. More than twenty volunteers headed towards Guizhou from all round the country to start “Free Lunch” for Pingzhai Ethnic Primary School in Sanping Town, Kaili.

Among the five schools visited, it’s only Changqing Primary School that I participated in applying for free lunch and visited in person. Since then, I began my career as docking volunteer for three years.

In March, 2015, I made my minds to devote myself into public work and became a member of the most mysterious audit team as a comptroller. The team working at the forefront of Free Lunch gave the chance to get in touch with schools and children’s desire for free lunch.

After joining audit team, I found out that most areas are far more backwards than what I have imagined. There are lots of stories during our inspection; you would never imagine that it should take 9 hours to walk through 170 miles, but it indeed happened in Meigu.

20 thousand steps’ walk to school is an ordinary fare in Meigu, even for every member of the audit team.

It’s also very normal that there’s nobody around as you walk, and I usually got more and more fearful as I walk. For me, it's a mixture of pain and happiness.

I hope my devotion in Free Lunch will help to make more kids in the distant area enjoy free meals, and I hope I could see their smiling faces every time I were at their schools. I wish I could keep doing this till I can’t make it.

Audit Team of Free Lunch

The audit team of Free Lunch is to do unannounced inspection in cooperated schools and give assessment report in food safety, financial security and other 5 major terms as well as 31 minor terms in order to keep effective control of project execution risk. The team summarizes and promotes cooperated schools’ outstanding execution experience so as to give reference to other school; we hope our on-site visiting of schools will make donators and the public learn and support Free Lunch, and more and more people pay attention to the primary education, left-behind children and rural educators in remote mountain areas. It’s our kind wish that there would be more people joining the historical process of “Changing China with tenderness”.

Free lunch audit team has been established since more than four years ago, we did school survey of more than 200 on average annually, which results in about 805 investigation reports in total.
