This year is the fifth anniversary of FLFC.
Before I heard of this project, the most famous quote I know about lunch is “There's no such thing as a free lunch!” We know perfectly what that means. No pain no gain. Everything you get comes from the effort you paid before.
Is there any exception? Sure there is. Those disabled and teenagers have the right to enjoy the free lunch, with two conditions: the respect for life and for human rights and the organizations or people who are willing to do so.
14th September, 2015, Pu ZHAO came back to his hometown Anhui. Representing FLFC, he made cooperation with Chizhou City, Shitai Town government.
Pu ZHAO came to Jitan Central primary school in Shitai Town.
Different from the simple answer to who should have free lunch, the answers to who are willing to do this could be so changeable. We can say, for this country which has carried out the Reform and opening up policy for more than thirty years, Chinese people have one simple wish, that is to relieve the children’s problem for food. Starving is one of the most severe problems that our country has suffered for a long time.

The reason for FLFC being so successful in these five years is not about “free”. It is about the resonance this project aroused in the society due to its caring for poor children. Parents and children welcome such kinds of charity projects and the public also show their passion for them.
Why?
Because the situation of the disadvantaged children is one of the big problems因in our country. We can see all kinds of reports of left-behind children, abducted children, accident injury and sexual abuse. Are these their destinies? If not, who will take the responsibility for their grow-up? Of course the main duty comes to parents then the government. If neither of them could do well, then the society should come to the stage.

Social organizations can’t do everything, especially those non-governmental organizations who are still in the process of developing. They spring up immediately without any experience or guidance.
Most of these organizations share the common features as FLFC: dare to take responsibility, not afraid of duty, dare to explore new field and focus on practicing. Minding your own business and fulfilling your own duty is a self-realization of oneself and self-improvement to the society.

We don’t want to talk big about relieving the government and parents across China. This is not just about ability, but also the understanding to our own country. We observe the basic human dignity and human rights; we know we share a community of common destiny among all the Chinese people and we know we can’t succeed without your support.
