“For us, 3 yuan may be a small amount of money. It’s just a price of one can of Coke or a cup of ice cream. It’s so small that we wouldn’t care if we lose it. However, for kids in rural area, 3 yuan means a hot meal, warm lunch, that sustains their following afternoons.”

Recently, Nanjing Institute of Technology, together with Chinese Society Welfare Free Lunch Fund and Jiangsu College Student Volunteer Group, held a public service activity called “Happiness of 3 Yuan, Love And Color Flowing Into A River”.

During the charity sale, volunteers were passionate in selling and active at propagandizing Free Lunch, the long-established public service organization. Some college students were generous to purchase products from the charity sale. In this case, the college students not only owned something they liked, but also sent their care to the kids in rural area and helped the kids to grow more healthily.

In the Color Run, volunteers wore Free Lunch T-shirt to participate into this activity. The energetic college students started to run under the shiny sun. When they passed by the buildings in Nanjing Institute of Technology, they beautified the college with the color they carried in the running. Soon, the college had become a colorful and love ocean.

After four days of effort, volunteers have gathered 2340 yuan donation. The donation can offer 780 meals for kids in rural area. Although what the charity sale gathered is not large, what the charity sale means for the volunteers is significant. What’s more, the charity sale has raise the people’s awareness of Free Lunch Fund and the kids in rural areas.

Love and care are like an ocean. We can gather our love and care drops by drops and let the drops accumulate and flow into an ocean.
